On a hill in front of Batignano, a nice Tuscan medieval village, there is the Convento di Santa Croce.
The XVIIth century monastery in sourrounded by woods and fields. The sea is 15 km away and so the city of Grosseto.
The entire property is composed of:
- the monastery, 1200 square meters,
- the church (at present it is ruined and it is necessary to be restored),
-the wonderful cloister that maintains some original wall paintings,
- the ruins of the old barn,
- ancient perimeter walls
- other buildings
The monastery of about 1200 square meters, it has two storey. At the ground floor of the Monastery there are some large rooms and the kitchen zone. The first floor has some parallel rooms (in ancient times these rooms were used by monks as bedroom).
The ancient monastery is surrounded by woods and by a private land (about 1,5 hectares) and offers a picturesque view on Batignano.
The property needs to be restored.
